How do I know my student is safe with your practice?

There is no specific national board for ADHD coaches, so it’s hard as a parent at first glance to truly be assured that an ADHD coach is qualified and safe. All of our Coaches have master’s degrees in Special Education and Psychology. They are also all nationally certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, and each holds a state license in their profession. Why is this important? To hold a national certification and a state license, you must pass a series of in-depth background checks, sit for rigorous state and national certification testing, and maintain continuing education units.

Although a state license and national certification are not necessary or required to be an ADHD coach, NextStep Navigators holds its staff to the highest level of qualifications to ensure that we provide the highest-quality services to our clients.

Our Guides all have bachelor’s degrees, undergo an in-depth background check, work directly with our Coaches, and continue their own development by completing monthly training and collaborating with our Coaches.

We are neurodiversity-affirming, and can’t wait to work with your student.

Who Are We?

We are a team of neurodiversity-affirming Behavior Analysts, but at our core, we are advocates for change in how neurodiversity is approached and supported. Fed up with the prevalent messaging of shame and fear surrounding neurodiversity, we have come together to champion a new narrative—one of affirmation, respect, and empowerment.

As neurodiversity-affirming behavioral science experts, our mission transcends traditional paradigms. We believe everyone deserves access to thoughtful, personalized support—not just those who can afford it. While typical executive functioning coaching services may charge upwards of $200 an hour and require a minimum of 1-2 hours a week. Meanwhile, specialized college programs (if you can find one and get accepted) demand between $4,500 and $6,000 a semester (on top of tuition). Our offerings are not only accessible from any university or community college but are also financially attainable, ensuring that the barriers to receiving high-quality support are dismantled.

Our philosophy is simple yet profound: We want to make the journey of emerging adults not just manageable but remarkable. Our goal is to assist young adults in becoming the individuals they aspire to be, providing them with the tools and guidance to navigate the complexities of neurodivergent college life confidently.

At the heart of our approach is a deep commitment to personalization and individualization. We understand that every individual’s journey is unique, and so, too, should be the support they receive. Our services offer unparalleled personalization, ensuring clients benefit from a strategy tailored to their needs, aspirations, and college schedules. This support system offers access and effectiveness unmatched by pricier, less personalized alternatives. We will use technology to reveal individual needs, motivations, and desires, and good old-fashioned behavior analysts will deliver individualized coaching (through text, video calls, phone calls, or emails based on client preference).

Our "why" is as clear as it is compelling: to support emerging adults through the transformative college experience without the steep financial, emotional, and otherwise costs that too often derail dreams. We are here to help build the skills and support necessary for success in college and adult life, ensuring that no one is left behind because of unmet needs or unacknowledged potential.

In choosing us, you’re not just selecting a service but joining a movement. A movement that sees neurodiversity not just as a challenge to be overcome but as a strength to be leveraged. Together, let’s redefine success on your terms, creating a future where everyone can thrive. Welcome to our community, where your journey is honored, your potential is unlocked, and your success is inevitable.

OUR APPROACH:

The sweet spot is between a convenient but somewhat impersonal app and an overbearing taskmaster. We are the on-the-call personal coach who knows you, cares about you, and wants to see you win.

Learn about yourself using technology, then chat about it with behavior experts to understand what it means and how to make meaningful changes for yourself.

Using a Science-Based approach, we assess each client individually and then consider their needs, wants, preferences, and goals. The transition to college is an exciting time where you can decide the adult you want to be; our job is to support you in that quest.

We use a combination of technology and personal coaching and consider your preferences when planning your path.

If you hate talking on the phone but are down for a text… we can do that. Do you prefer a video call where you can see your coach “In person”? We can do that. Do you really want to know your strengths and weaknesses but only want to take short (less than 5-minute quizzes)… we can make that happen and spread it out so that it’s not overwhelming.

Our entire philosophy is to meet you where you are and work on goals that matter to you. Even our Blog offers a full version and a TLDR (too long didn’t read) version.

Our Experience:

For the last decade, we have worked providing behavioral health services in the medical clinic setting. After spending years providing clinical services, and teaching parents how to provide coaching to their kids we are excited to offer these coaching services so that any student at any university can access quality individual ADHD/Executive Functioning Coaching.

How are we different than other services?

Our analysts have Master’s Degrees in either Psychology or Education, and all have specializations in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Masters level. We will utilize guides with Bachelor’s degrees but only to do accountability check-ins. Our analysts will be the only ones who provide individualized coaching plans.

Why do we call our coaches Analysts?

It’s what we do; we use data and information about each specific client to create our individual coaching plans. This is not a generic one-size-fits-all approach, so it’s appropriate to call our coaches Analysts because they analyze each client’s needs, wants, motivations, and desires before providing any coaching resources.

Is this a medical service?

This is not a medical service. This is a coaching and educational service. Our ultimate goal is to assist our clients in building the tools they need to advocate and align themselves in a way that helps them accomplish what they want in life. We use behavioral science to inform our coaching practice, but this is not a medical service. These interventions are not clinical, behavioral, health-related, or covered by our BACB certifications.
